To ensure quality the genetic evaluation unit of vit applies a quality insurance system according to ISO 9001-2015 certified by DNV GL - Business Assurance.
vit genetic evaluations are certified by ICAR (International Committee for Animal Recording), too.
In January 2018 vit was internationaly the first institution that was recognized by ICAR for paranteage verification on the base of SNP.
In February 2024 vit was successfully re-certified for parentage verification on the base of SNP.
Since May 2025, Vereinigte Informationssysteme Tierhaltung w.V. (vit) has been officially certified by ICAR as an authorized service provider for parentage discovery based on SNP genotyping in cattle. This method is applied when there are doubts about the reported parentage or when reliable pedigree information is lacking. In such cases, the so-called “Parent Finder” offers a scientifically sound solution to identify the correct parents based on their genetics.
The ICAR certification confirms that vit meets the highest international standards in performing this service.
